Camel Trek
Camel treks for tourists operate out of Jaisalmer, and from other towns near
the Thar Desert. This is as touristy as tourism gets. It's more like a camel ride,
and one step up from a
coin-operated pony in front of the candy store. Nonetheless it's enjoyable. After an hour's ride,
there's a drive out to a camp in the desert, with a meal and entertainment.

Later on I found out that that chinking noise from the saddle was from
bottles of Pepsi, on sale for 30 rupees during a break at the sand
dunes. |

Rajasthani folk troupe
Later on, this group performed epic songs in the desert. The music
sounded somewhat like qawwali. |

The percussion section
The wooden sticks sound like castanets, and are played like spoons. |

A tandem drum
This was played for the dancers. It's metal and it's loud. |

The concert ended up in a free-for-all, with members of the audience
being dragged up to make total fools of themselves. They knew their customers. |
