Taken one evening from a boat on the Hudson in 1994.
Wreckage seen from Broadway
Three months later, still smoldering.
Dousing and digging
Each area being excavated is cooled down.
The piece on the left was probably blown about 500 meters, one of the
last standing parts of the structure. It reminded me of the ruins
in the Roman Forum.

Onlookers at St. Paul's Church
The church was turned into a barracks for rescue workers, and the fence
held condolences in various forms.
The fence
As much an attraction as the site itself
Another display
farther down Broadway near Liberty Street.
Road works
The whole area was dug up
Some less charitable sentiment

Looking up from West Street
The bridge on the left formerly connected buildings. The ruin on the
right might have been the Marriott Hotel.
Taken far away with a very long zoom, since you couldn't get past an ID point.
